Cathy Zedd

My approach to therapy is one of mutual respect and collaboration.

You know your children the best, and my goal as a therapist is to provide a supportive and empathetic environment to foster awareness, understanding and positive growth as a parent, a partner, and an individual.  My integrative style includes use of methods such as Family Systems, Parenting with Love and Logic, Solution and Strength Oriented Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.  I have worked in a variety of settings including Child/Adolescent Outpatient Clinic, Child/Adolescent Inpatient Clinic, and private practice.

I received a B.S. in Psychology from Vanderbilt University (1994), an MSW from Columbia University (1997), and completed a Post Masters Clinical Externship in Family Therapy at Family Therapy Practice Center, Washington DC with Marianne Walters (1998). I received my LCSW in 2000.  I have completed level 2 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as training to be a faciliator for premarital counseling.  I have also completed my Academic Certification in Cognitive Behavior Therapy.  My areas of specialty focus on individual, couples and families experiencing challenges with parenting.  My focus also includes couples seeking support around their marriage and life decisions.  My experience includes therapy for children, adolescents, young adults, individuals, coupled adults, and families.
